Experience the dramatic reenactment of Georgia’s final Civil War battle, marking the end of Sherman’s March to the Sea. Hosted in an early 20th Century 2/3 scale recreation of Fort McAllister on the original grounds, the Winter Muster recreates Sherman's seizure of the fort from Confederate hands in December of 1864, at the end of his March to the Sea. A very fun and unique event, with an afternoon-long battle, a parole ceremony, and some of the best camping spots you'll find at a reenactment, this is not one to miss. Confederates will be camping in the fort (dog tents and campaigning encouraged), and Federals will be camping outside the fort. Both camps are near the water and enjoy a cool sea breeze throughout the night.
